Jimmy " Howard " Caulder, Jr. Obituary

Jimmy “Howard” Caulder Jr., 51, born November 7, 1974, in Scotland County, passed away on April 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to others.

Howard was a true family man who devoted his life to his wife and children, who meant everything to him. He had a servant’s heart and a genuine passion for helping others, always showing up when someone was in need. If you spent any time with Howard, you quickly saw his love for children—he was truly a kid at heart. He shared that joy by coaching many T-ball teams through Scotland County Parks and Recreation, creating lasting memories for countless young players.

Howard proudly served with the Gibson Fire Department for 34 years, where he held roles as a training officer and captain. He retired from Gibson Fire Department in 2025, but his commitment to serving others never stopped, as he continued as an active member of the McColl Fire Department. His dedication to his community and his fellow firefighters was unwavering, and he took great pride in mentoring and leading others.

He also had a natural talent for working with his hands and could build just about anything. Whether it was a project for his family or helping someone else, Howard found joy in creating and fixing things.

Howard is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Natasha; his children, Colby and Kaelin, who were his whole world; his parents, Jimmy and Mary Ellen Caulder; his brother, John Caulder and wife Lindsay; and his niece and nephew, Carolyn and Ian. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Brown, and his grandmothers, Frances Beane Hart and Marcile Carlisle.

Howard will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, his willingness to help anyone, and the deep love he had for his family and community. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The funeral service celebrating his life with honor will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026 at New Hope Baptist Church followed by the graveside service of Fireman Honors in Hillside Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior the service beginning at 3:00 until 4:30 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church.
