Jimmy Wayne Taylor

Jimmy Wayne Taylor of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 67 on October 7, 2025.   He was a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend who will deeply be missed.

He was born August 23, 1958 in Scotland County, North Carolina, a loving son of the late Lee Chambers Taylor and Helen Locklear Taylor.  Jimmy was a talented automotive mechanic that enjoyed his time working with Bobby Clark and Buck Stanton’s Service Station.   He was an avid NASCAR racing fan, a vast collector of die cast cars, and enjoyed assembling model cars.  He was also a talented painter of automobiles and also enjoyed his time painting portraits.  Above all, Jimmy cherished his family and loved sharing his time with each of them.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Taylor.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Shawna Taylor (Mark) of Winfield, Missouri; brothers, Ricky Taylor (Jennifer) of Laurinburg, and Ronnie Taylor (Elaine) of Gibson; sister, Sue Snead (Leonard) of Laurel Hill; special friend, Libby Pate of Laurinburg; along with his nieces, nephews and extended loving family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with entombment following in the Richmond County Memorial Park.  The family will have a time of visitation prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests in lieu of flowers for memorial donations to be given to Scotland Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC  28353.
