Jimmy Locklear, age 73 of Wagram passed away Monday, September 6, 2021.
Jimmy was born April 10, 1948 in Scotland County, son of the late Ernest Locklear and Aretha McGirt Locklear. He worked many years for Edwards Wood Products. He enjoyed being outside, cleaning his yard, fishing and traveling to the beach. Jimmy loved spending time with his family and will be missed as a devoted husband, loving grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Jimmy Eugene Locklear; brothers, James Locklear, Donnie Locklear and sister, Priscilla Driggers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Katherine “Kathy” Rouse Locklear of the home; daughters, Angela Locklear Lake (Edward) and Pamela Locklear, all of Laurinburg; brothers, Pete Locklear of Laurinburg, Malcolm Locklear of Laurel Hill; sisters, Bessie Locklear Martin, Brenda Locklear Locklear, both of Laurinburg, Dora Locklear Haynes of Wagram, Bonnie Locklear Milligan of Laurel Hill, Vicky Mishue of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Briana Locklear, Aretha Seals; great grandchildren, Hailey Locklear, Brian Walder, Jr., Kayliana Walder, Luis Paez, Kayla Paez, and Japheth Allen, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Due to the current pandemic status, all services will be private for family and invited guests only. A graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
