Jimmy Hunt

Jimmy Hunt, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend departed this life for his Heavenly home at the age of 72 on July 16, 2025.

He was the loving son of the late Clarence Huggins, and the late Lizzie Chavis Hunt and dad who raised him, Will Hunt, born December 27, 1952 in Marlboro County, SC. Jimmy had a great love for farming and enjoyed his work with Harvey Edge Farms for many devoted years until retiring. He served as a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Laurinburg. Jimmy enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, working in his yard, cooking a wonderful meal, and conversations with his many friends. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and the many memories they shared. Jimmy will be deeply missed and remembered for his love and devotion for his family and friends.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, David Hunt, James Hunt; sisters, Nancy Kirkland, Pearl Hunt; and sister-in-law, Karen Hunt.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 44 years, Connie Hunt of the home; son, Michael Hunt (Mandy) of Laurinburg; daughters, April Hunt and Sherry Hunt Smith (Nicholas) both of Laurinburg; brother, Nathaniel Hunt of Supply, Willie Hunt (Nancy) of Maxton, Lee Huggins (Mary) of Clio, SC; grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, Harley Luther, Carrie Luther, Alexis Hunt, Katlyn Smith, Sherrina Smith; great-grandchildren, Judah, Malani, Ainslee, Calani, Messiah, Lakota, and Hayston; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Church of God of Prophecy in Laurinburg with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday evening, July 20, 2025 beginning 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Church of God of Prophecy.
