Jimmie Lee Godwin

Mr. Jimmie Lee Godwin, age 75 of Laurinburg departed this life on Friday, September 19, 2025.

He was born June 28, 1950 in Scotland County, NC an adored son of the late James “Tom” Thomas Godwin and the late Kathleen Frances Watson Godwin Lucas. Jimmie was a Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the construction industry, working as a talented home builder for many dedicated years. Jimmie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Lindsey Godwin and Harold Godwin.

Jimmie is survived by son, Timothy Godwin, and daughter, Jimmy Lynn Godwin of West End; brothers, Leo Watson of Missouri, Richard Godwin (JoAnn) of Michigan, Thomas Godwin (Hariette) of Marston; sisters, Geraldine Meisman (Gary) of Laurinburg, Faye Gordon of Rocky Mount; granddaughter, Missy Godwin; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Deana” Godwin of Siler City; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 the Springfield Church of God.  Burial with military honors will follow in the Watson Cemetery.  

Visitation will be held prior to service on Wednesday beginning 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Springfield Church of God.
