Jessie W. Bryant

Jessie W. Bryant, was one of nine children of the late Walter and Mary Jacobs Bryant born March 12, 1935 in Robeson County.  He worked many years as a mechanic and truck driver retiring from Wallace Trucking Company.  Along with sharing time with his family, Jessie also enjoyed fishing, planting and growing flowers.  He passed away at the age of 86 on January 7, 2022.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Betty Bryant; granddaughters, Esmerada Valentino and Alexandria Bryant; his brothers, Chester Lee “Pop” Bryant, John Walter Bryant and Roy Lee Bryant.

Jessie is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ann Strickland Bryant; children, Cary Green and Tina Hammonds both of Chadbourn, Helen Gutierrez-Clewiston of Florida, Mary Bryant, Willard Bryant both of Chadbourn, Thomas Bryant of Nashville, TN, Terry Bryant of Buffalo, SC, Jerry Bryant of Saint Paul, Roy Bryant of Chadbourn; brothers, Thomas Allen Bryant of Hamlet, James Bryant and Berlin Bryant both of Laurinburg; sisters, Mary Jane Bryant and Betty Bryant Haywood both of Laurinburg; thirty one grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and loving family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.   Family will receive friends prior to services beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.    A private interment will be at a later date.

Due to the current COVID19 status, facial mask and social distancing are requested for all attending services.
