Jennifer Marcella Lowery of Maxton departed this life at the age of 70 on May 19, 2025.
She was born April 3, 1955 in Scotland County, North Carolina, loving daughter of the late Leeguster Lowery, the late Flora Jane Strickland Locklear, and her late step-father, Wade Locklear. Jennifer retired after many dedicated years from Woodard Manufacturing working as a seamstress. She faithfully served as a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. Jennifer enjoyed sewing, reading her Bible, working crossword puzzles, and in her earlier years being a short order cook. She also enjoyed entertaining others and especially her time spent with family and the memories they shared. Jennifer was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Flora and Wade Locklear; brothers, Donnie Lowery, Darrie Lowery, Walter Lowery; and sister, Deborah Miller.
Jennifer is survived by her adored daughter, Wendy Barnes of Maxton; sister, Vickie Lowery of Maxton; grandchildren, Quinlan Lowery (Eshany), Aurora Barnes, Darious Baker, Dorian Baker; great-grandchildren, Ariabella Barnes, Domonique Goode, and Elijah Lowery; and special niece, Jocelyn Lowery and nephew, Nelson Locklear (Fedria); along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Brian Locklear. Burial will follow in the Strickland Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
