James Morris Ray was born September 3, 1943, a loving son of the late Walter J. Ray and Claudia Lee Ray. He was one of eighteen children who loved sharing his time with family. Morris had a long career with L.O.F / Pilkington Glass. He served as a faithful longtime member of the Wagram Church of God and enjoyed attending other church revivals with Rev. Harry Clark. He was a kind man who was everyone’s friend and loved making others laugh. He also enjoyed spending time fishing at the beach. Morris passed away to his Heavenly home on January 11, 2022 at the age of 78.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by eight brothers, Alton Ray (Judy), Curtis Odell Ray, Dudley Ray, Jerry Ray, Walter Ray, Jr., (Walker), Lacy Ray (Carol), Boyce Ray; two sisters, Mary Beane (Herbert), and Gladys Walters (James); brothers-in-law, L.J. Powell, Bill Moser, Carl Hegwer, Bobby Beane; and sister-in-law, Jacqueline "Jackie" Gibson Ray.
Morris leaves behind brothers, Billy Ray, Bobby Ray (Pat), Ellis Ray (Sandra); sisters, Jeanette Powell (Luther), Betty Powell, Maxine Moser, Irene Hegwer, Sherrill Beane; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Ray and Ruby Ray; along with his many nieces, nephews and loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Ricky Brewer and Rev. Harry Clark. A private burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. Family will receive friends prior to services from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
