James "Jimmy" Junior Beasley Obituary

Mr. James Junior Beasley of Laurel Hill, passed to his Heavenly home at the age of 88 on February 4, 2025.

James was the oldest of twelve children of the late James Rufus Beasley and the late Eva Mae Moody Beasley born September 11, 1936 in Robeson County, NC. He was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army prior to enlisting in the United States Navy.  He then served in the North Carolina National Guard retiring after 31 years of dedicated service.   He had a long career as a textile machinery mechanic retiring after 46 years with JP Stevens, Inc. 

Mr. Beasley loved his church serving as a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophesy of Laurel Hill.  He strived to help others in need and enjoyed caring for the community animals.  He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.  In younger years, he loved his time inspiring and coaching young men and who was extremely proud of coaching the Carolina Military Academy.  James will be remembered for his love of family, a loving and devoted father and grandfather, brother uncle and friend to many.

Along with his parents, preceding him in death are his beloved wife of 67 years, Peggy Ann “Jewel” Shepherd Beasley; brothers, Jackie Beasley, Bill Beasley and Freddie Beasley.

He is survived by his children, daughter, Wanda Beasley Pate of Laurel Hill, and son, James “Jamie” Beasley III of Maxton; his granddaughter, Autumn Pate Chavis (Jody); and great granddaughter, Natalee Cheyanne; brothers, Rev. Carl Beasley (Carol), Eddie Beasley, Charles Beasley, Ronnie Beasley, Donnie Beasley (Josie), Sherwood Beasley (Lisa); sisters, Jeannie Pfeiffer (Johnny), and Susie Williams (Tommy); a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday evening, February 7th from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8th at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.  Burial with military honors will follow in King Cemetery.
