James "Jimmy" Daniel Lowe

James Daniel “Jimmy” Lowe, age 73 of Rock Hill, South Carolina passed away May 15, 2022.

Jimmy was born on November 29, 1948 in Lumberton, North Carolina, son of the late John Bunyan Lowe, Sr., and Lena Mae Ransom Lowe. He was a graduate of Maxton High School, Class of 1967.  Jimmy was a proud Veteran who served our country in the United States Coast Guard aboard the USCG Cutter Pontchartrain. He had a long- distinguished career with Mid-State Petroleum, Inc., retiring after many years as a District Manager. Jimmy’s favorite past times were watching Fox News and various sports on television, and he never missed watching his son compete in iRacing on the computer every weekend. To his family, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, John “J B” Lowe, Jr., and Robert “Robbie” Wayne Lowe.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judith “Judy” Covington Lowe of the home; daughter, Julie Diane Lowe also of the home, and son, James Daniel “Danny” Lowe, Jr. of Portsmouth, VA; sister, Mary Alice Wise of Fayetteville, NC; granddaughter, Gabrielle Renee “Gabby” Lowe of Portsmouth, VA; his beloved K-9 kids, Rowdy and Lucy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside memorial service with military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022 in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Maxton, NC.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at graveside.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any Memorials be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
