James “Jimmy” Edward Fields of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 63 on May 14, 2025.
He was loving son of the late James Malcolm Fields and the late Shirley Stone Fields Driggers, born December 22, 1961 in Cleveland County, North Carolina. Jimmy was a talented painter and carpenter and enjoyed sharing his gift helping others with their projects. He enjoyed attending East Laurinburg Church of God. Jimmy liked being outdoors fishing, hunting, and camping. His greatest joy was being able to cook and entertain his family and friends. Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Richard Fields and Steven Wayne “Bo” Fields; and sisters, Deanna Fields Spaulding, Sandra “Sandy” English, and Maxine Gardner.
Jimmy is survived by longtime companion and fiancé, Hazel Smith of the home; brother, Jeffrey “Stoney” Fields (Marie) of Laurel Hill; sister, Debbie Fields Easterling of Wilmington; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the funeral home.
