James Everett Stubbs

Mr. James Everett Stubbs of Bennettsville, SC passed away at the age of 91 on February 28, 2025.

James was the son of the late Leslie and Sally Stubbs born in Marlboro County, SC, on May 4, 1933.  He loved his career as a long-distance truck driver spanning over 50 years while driving for L.G. DeWitt Trucking Company, Family Dollar Stores and Crown Cork & Seal. He enjoyed his retirement years fishing and loved spending time with his family.  He will dearly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, preceding him in death are his son, Deryl W. Stubbs; great grandson, D.J. Stubbs; brothers, Frank Stubbs, Grady Stubbs, William Stubbs; sisters, Sally Frances Moore and Mamie Lee Oxendine.

Mr. Stubbs is survived by his sons, Richard Stubbs of Laurel Hill, Randall Stubbs of Kannapolis, Joey Stubbs of New York, Greg Stubbs and wife, Debbie of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Donald Stubbs, Ronald Stubbs, Jamie Stubbs, Jonathan Stubbs, Chad Stubbs, Kelsie Stubbs, Terry Wayne Stubbs and Candy Stubbs; great grandchildren, Haleigh, Brendon, Zachary, Andrew, Jermiah, Gabriel, Kalisy, Danarey, and Terry Ann; along with a host of nieces, nephews and loving family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in the Bright Stubbs Cemetery.    Visitation will be held prior to services on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
