James Quick, age 75 of Bennettsville, South Carolina passed away at his home on October 8, 2021.
James was the son of the late Raeford Quick and Mary Steen Quick born in Richmond County, North Carolina on July 17, 1946. He was the loving and devoted husband of 44 years to the late Wanda Guinn Quick. He was a Vietnam War Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later retired after many years of service from Richmond Converters of Laurel Hill. Prior to his medical disabilities, James loved tinkering with his 55’ Chevy Truck and collecting old tractors. He loved fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan of the late Dale Earnhardt. He formerly served as a volunteer with the Brightsville Fire Department. James will be remembered for his love of family, being a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Morgan Taylor Jackson, and sisters, Mary Alice Quick and Margaret Quick.
James is survived by his daughters, Jodie Lynn Quick and spouse, Hannah Quick of Bennettsville, SC, Buffy Quick and companion, Allen Chavis of Bennettsville, SC, Pamela Hope Wooten of Bennettsville, SC; brothers, Charles Quick and spouse, Debbie of Laurinburg, NC; sisters, Marie Jordan of Cheraw, SC, Molly Brigman and spouse, Weldon Brigman of Bennettsville, SC, Marjorie Currie and spouse, Jessie Currie of Hamlet, NC; his adoring grandchildren, Braylen Chavis and Dayton Kostelnik of Bennettsville, SC. He also leaves behind his many nieces, nephews and a host of loving family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Jamie English. Burial with military honors will follow in the Quick Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Richard Boles Funeral Service with COVID-19 restrictions of wearing facial mask, social distancing with limited attendance for all services.
