James Leroy Lewis, Jr.

James “Ricky” Leroy Lewis, Jr., age 74 of Lumber Bridge, NC passed away on February 18, 2025.

He was the son of the late James Leroy Lewis, Sr., and the late Jeanette Snipes Lewis, born April 7, 1950 in Scotland County, NC. Ricky was a veteran who proudly served with the United States Army. He retired after 32 years of valued service with Pilkington/N.S.G. Ricky enjoyed golf, fishing, reading a good book, and working in the yard. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ricky was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Donald “Red” Lewis and Victor “Vic” Lewis.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Pamela “Pam” Sumner Lewis of the home; sons, James “Sidney” Lewis (Christina) of Vass, NC, Richard Lewis (Chinelo) of Lumber Bridge; brother, Ronald “Blackie” Lewis (Nan) of Laurel Hill; sister, Jenny Clark (Jimmy) of Laurel Hill; grandchildren, Sidney Lewis, Jr., Riley Lewis, Sawyer Lewis, Destiny Underwood, Darius Burris, Adaeze Onuoha, Mavrick Lewis, Marino Lewis, Hugo Lewis, and Nia Lewis; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.

The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.
