James Belford Clark

James Belford Clark of Laurinburg, NC passed away at the age of 72 on July 5, 2025.

He was born August 10, 1952 in Scotland County, NC, the son of the late Sinclair and Viola Locklear Clark. He was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army.  James worked for the Robeson County Tax Department as a Mapping Technician for many dedicated years until retiring. He enjoyed and faithfully attended the Oak Grove Baptist Church. James had a great love for music and was an extremely talented guitar player. He also had a love for nature, photography, and was an avid car enthusiast. James will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lee Strickland, Ruth Chavis, and Vileaner Clark.

James is survived by son, Dion Oxendine (Heather) of Palm Coast, FL; sisters, Lillie Mae Locklear and Kathleen Oxendine each of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Nathaniel Oxendine, Noah Oxendine, Deanna Oxendine, Abigail Bacon, Kassidy Oxendine, Dion Oxendine, Jr., Rosa-Lee Oxendine, and Jordan Oxendine; along with many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held prior to the services on Sunday beginning 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
