Jackie Norman Bailey, age 78 of Laurinburg passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020.
Born February 18, 1942 in Blossom County, Texas, Jackie was a son of the late Morris A. Bailey, Sr., and Hettie Mae Dockery Bailey. He was a proud Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps. After graduating from college, he entered his distinguished career with the Campbell Soup Company retiring in 2007 with 43 years of dedicated service. He was an avid fan of all sports; a former baseball player in college, enjoyed bowling and loved golfing everyday. He also enjoyed his quiet time reading. His family will forever treasure his love and devotion to each of them.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Bobby H. Bailey, James Mark Bailey and John Paul Bailey.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Martha Clement Bailey of their home; and daughters, Rev. Rochele Bailey (Rev. Kerry Peeler) of Newport, NC; Julie Lowry (Jimmy Lowry) of Longs, SC; his grandson, Michael James Lowry of Longs, SC; brother, Morris A. Bailey of Ashburn, VA; special sister-in-law, Dot Bailey off Blossom, TX and special nephews, Chris Bailey and Charlie Bailey; along with a host of loving family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2020 in Hillside Memorial Park, Laurinburg, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for memorial donations to be given to St. Luke United Methodist Church, or to the American Cancer Society.
