Jack Wayne Wood

Jack Wayne Wood, age 72 of Laurinburg passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021.

Jack was born June 17, 1948 in Richmond County, son of the late James Lewis Wood and Madeline Kendrick Wood. He retired from the banking business with First Southern Bank. During his youth, he attended Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Jack was an avid NASCAR fan and loved his K-9 family throughout the years. He loved having a clean home and enjoyed working in his yard. Jack will forever be remembered as a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Jack leaves behind his son, Jeff Wood (Lisa) of Hamlet; brothers, Jim Wood of Claremont, Jerry Wood of Laurel Hill; sister, Teresa Sweet of Gibson; grandchildren, Adam Wood, Courtney Blake (Zach), Austin Pope, Anna Pope; his K-9 family, Max and Pippa, along with his extended family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be given to Victory Junction, 45 Adams Way, Randleman, NC 27317.

A private service is being planned for a later date.
