JC "Jody" Hunt, Jr.

JC “Jody” Hunt, Jr., age 56 of Laurinburg passed away on April 11, 2026.

He was born February 16, 1970 in Scotland County, only son to Judy Wright Hunt and the late JC Hunt, Sr. He was a valued employee of J.P. Stevens, Inc., for many years and a former employee with the Scotland County Sheriff's Office. Jody served as a member of Living Water Church of God. He enjoyed traveling, was a wonderful cook and baker, and loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family. Jody was a loving father, son, grandfather, brother, and friend who will truly be missed.

He is survived by his sons, Forrest Hunt, Kayden Hunt, Kelton Hunt each of Laurinburg; daughters, Bridget Hunt of Laurinburg, Melissa Tew (Derrick) of Laurinburg, Kimberly Locklear (Eric) of Laurinburg, Courtney Hunt of Maxton, Kendall Hunt of Laurinburg; mother, Judy Hunt of Laurinburg; sisters, Donna Harris (Rick) of Wagram, Lisa Hunt of Laurinburg; eight adored grandchildren; and special companion, Courtney McPherson of Laurinburg; along with a host of loving extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 beginning 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
