J C Hunt, Sr.

J.C. Hunt, Sr., age 76 of Laurinburg passed away on February 5, 2021.

J.C. was a son of the late Otis Hunt and Mildred Hunt Locklear born April 21, 1944 in Robeson County, North Carolina.  He retired after many years of service with JP Stevens, Incorporated, and was a longtime faithful member of the Living Water Church of God.  He was an avid sports fan of NASCAR #3, 49ers Football Team, and the UNC Tarheels Basketball Team.  J.C. enjoyed visiting his family, watching game shows, playing Corn Hole and listening to Elvis Presley music.  He was a great cook who loved cooking and sharing meals with his family.  A loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, J.C. loved sharing time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Earl Locklear, and a sister, Doris H. Ivey.

J.C. leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Judy Wright Hunt of their home; son, J.C. “Jody” Hunt, Jr., (Courtney) of Laurel Hill; daughters, Donna Harris (Rick) of Wagram, Lisa Ann Hunt of Laurinburg; brother, James Earl Locklear of Maxton; sisters, Mary Lois Hunt of Fairmont, Carol Locklear Melton of Laurel Hill, Diane L. Hudson of Gibson, Geraldine Wilson and Shirley Martin, both of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Heidi Chavis, Colby Chavis, Bridget Medlin, Melissa Hunt, Forrest Hunt, Kimberly Hunt, Courtney Hunt, Kendall Hunt, Kayden Hunt and eleven great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Living Water Church of God with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.  A time of viewing will be held prior to service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Church.
