Irene Miller Locklear

Irene Miller Locklear, 69 of Maxton, NC was born December 30, 1956 to the late Gus and Margaret Miller and departed to her Heavenly home on July 15, 2026 at home surrounded by loved ones and friends.

Irene worked in the textile industry for many devoted years with Waverly Mills. She served as a faithful member of Leitch Creek Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving the Lord. Irene also enjoyed going to yard sales and spending time with family.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Miller and Wesley Fields; and one sister, Lillie Mae Quick.

Ms. Irene Locklear leaves to cherish her memory one son, Justin Dean Locklear of the home; two daughters, Tabitha Faye Hunt of Maxton, Renee Jones (Earl) of Maxton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Minnie Pearl Locklear, Shirley Quick both of Maxton, Betty Marin, Geraldine Miller, Sarah Miller each of Laurinburg; two brothers, Charles Miller, Gus Miller (Pauline) both of Maxton; and a special friend, Bertrand Buchanan; as well as a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20th at the Leitch Creek Baptist Church followed by burial in the church cemetery.
