Irene Brayboy Obituary

Irene Dial Brayboy, age 79 of Maxton passed away, Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

Irene was a daughter of the late Clifton Dial and Ollie Mae Lowery Dial, born January 4, 1941 in Robeson County. She retired after 20 years of service from Stedman’s in Maxton. She was a faithful member of Little Mission Church where she enjoyed singing for the Lord. Her favorite hobby was quilting and enjoyed scrapbooking. Spending time with her family and cooking for them brought her great joy. To her family, Irene will be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Locklear and brothers, James Irwin Dial and Mike Dial.

Irene leaves behind her children, Joseph “Joey” Clifton Clark of Missouri; Jackie Smith (Jim) of California;Clonnie Brayboy, Jr. (Olivia), Amy Locklear (Phillip), Andrea Denise Locklear (Michael), all of Maxton; sisters, Gertie Mae Locklear of Maxton; Virgie Phillips of Robbins; Madeline Stubbs of Hamlet; Darlene Williams, Wanda Bailey, both of Laurinburg; Ilene Bryant of Rockingham; brothers, John Dial, Jr. of Pembroke; Glen Ray Dial of Hamlet; Larry Dial of Rockingham; Kenneth Dial of Laurinburg; fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 mandate, a private Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Little Mission Holiness Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Ellis Cooper and Rev. Furman Locklear. Viewing for extended family and friends will be from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Little Mission Holiness Church.

 

AT THIS TIME, FEDERAL AND STATE OFFICIALS HAVE MANDATED LIMITING ALL GATHERINGS TO NO MORE THAN 50 PEOPLE.  THIS MANDATE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE BASED ON FORCOMING CHANGES BY OFFICIALS.  IN ORDER TO KEEP ALL OF OUR FAMILIES SAFE DURING THIS TIME, RICHARD BOLES FUNERAL SERVICE WILL ABIDE BY ALL MANDATES.
