Hubert “Sack” Clark, one of twelve children of the late Martin and Arielma Locklear Clark was born August 12, 1945 in Laurinburg, North Carolina. He worked in manufacturing with Crown Leisure then retiring to his favorite profession of farming. Along with being a great family man, Sack loved fishing, golfing, farming and being with his brothers. He was a good mechanic who enjoyed fixing cars, lawn mowers and tractors. He attended Gray Pond Baptist Church and enjoyed sharing outings with his senior church group. Hubert loved his family, especially his grandchildren who loved to help him make his famous biscuits. Sack passed to his Heavenly home at the age of 78 on August 14, 2023. A devoted father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will truly be missed.
Along with his parents, preceding him in death are brothers, Martin “Pappy” Clark, Jr., Benford “Shot” Clark, Ben James “Buck” Clark and sisters, Savannah Harris, Virginia Hobbs, Louise “Weezie” Moses, Emma Bell Holt, and Marian Glenda “Nukey” Bullard.
Hubert leaves behind his children, daughters, Tina Honeycutt of Wadesboro, Siddie Clark (Jonathan Groves) of Raeford, and son, Jeffery Clark of Sampson County; his adored grandchildren, Carmen Danielle Clark Bullard, Jonathan Isaiah “Pooda” Groves and Lilly Pearl Groves; special step daughter, Jeanette Rodgers; brothers, Herbert “Tang” Clark (Mary) of Laurinburg, Ander Clark (Linda) of Laurinburg, Raymond “Enoch” Clark (Delois) of Laurinburg, and a special brother, James “EB” McLaurin. Sack is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Gray Pond Baptist Church followed by burial in the Clark Family Cemetery. Family will have a time of visitation prior to the service on Friday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Gray Pond Baptist Church.
