Son Howard “Pa” Scott of McColl, South Carolina passed away at the age of 71 on March 31, 2026.
He was the loving son of the late Son Edward Scott and the late Ada Caulder Scott, born September 25, 1954 in McColl, SC. Howard worked in the textile industry with J.P. Stevens for many years and cherished his time as a volunteer with the McColl Rescue Squad. Howard enjoyed being outdoors fishing, cutting the grass, and tinkering in the yard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Howard Gordon Scott; granddaughter, Gracie Scott; brothers, William Scott, James Scott; and sister, Mary Scott.
Howard is survived by his adored wife of 50 years, Andrea Ingalls Scott of the home; son, Dennis W. Scott (Tracy) of McColl, SC; brother, Edward Junior Scott of Asheboro; special brother, James “Mimmy” Ingalls (Debbie) of Liberty; sisters, Jan Scott, Mattie Caulder (Pete), Linda Herring, Hilda Deese (Larry), Shirley McDowell all of McColl, SC; special sisters, Linda Roberts (Dennis) of Vermont, Wendy Sue Graves of Florida, Robin “Ribit” Goff (Charles), Beth “Bert” Herring, Cindy “Lou” Ingalls each of McColl, SC; grandchildren, Howard L. Scott (Emily), Eric Scott, Lexi Scott, Elle Scott, Mattie Scott; and great-grandchildren, Braylen Scott and Ella Scott; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday beginning 5:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
