Pastor Henry Ward Locklear, devoted Godly servant, beloved father and grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many departed the life for his eternal Heavenly home at the age of 92 on April 26, 2025.
Henry was one of eleven children born June 6, 1932, to the late Robert Lee Locklear and Carrie Goins Locklear of Robeson County, NC. His joy of life was service to the Lord evangelizing and preaching the gospel, visiting the sick and calls to others to lift their spirits in need. He also cherished his membership faithfully serving at the Ghio Holiness Church. Pastor also had a career in textiles working many years with Springs Mills and JP Stevens, Inc., and proudly worked in the pine straw industry until he was 90 years old. He cherished his family and loved sharing time with each of them. Pastor Henry will deeply be missed by all of his loved ones.
Along with his parents, preceding him in death is his beloved wife, Annie Louise Underwood Locklear; son, Jerry Wayne Locklear; daughter, Kimberly Renee Auman; brothers, Lawrence Locklear, James Locklear, Robert Lee Locklear; sisters, Evelyn Coble, Jesse Lee Williamson, Josephine Leviner, Lizzie Jacobs, and Iona Faulk.
He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Sarah Brigman and husband, Kenneth W. Brigman, Jr., of Hamlet, NC; son, Henry Lewis Locklear of Reidsville, NC; brother, William Locklear of Gibson, NC, and sister, Lena Mae Clark of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Kamden Lee Duff, Valance Locklear, Charity Amber Locklear, Ashton R. Auman, Arianna Auman, and great grandchildren, Devon Cain Locklear and Treaston Locklear. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and his loving extended family.
The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service followed by a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. in the Locklear Family Cemetery, Gibson, NC.
