Henry Elleby Jeffcoat, of Laurel Hill, NC, peacefully passed on to his heavenly home on July 2, 2026. Born on March 14, 1929, in Roseboro, NC, he was the beloved son of the late Clarence and Ethel Jeffcoat.
A proud veteran, Henry honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades throughout his long and fulfilling life. Over the years, he shared his talents and hard work as a truck driver, the owner of his own shoe shop, and as a dedicated minister. Above all, Henry was a man of deep faith and a long-time, devoted member of the Wagram Church of God.
Henry was an incredibly loving husband who adored his wife, Margie, famously pampering her and steadfastly refusing to ever let her do the dishes.
He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Margie Odom Jeffcoat; his children, Henry Wayne Jeffcoat of Wilmington, and Debbie Jeffcoat Robinson of Laurinburg; his step-children, Ricky Odom of Laurel Hill, Jody Odom (Angela) of Wagram, Doris Gagnon (Jay) of Wagram, Gail Barnes (Tommy) of Laurel Hill, and Buffy Poole (Earl) of Laurinburg. To cherish his memory, he also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters, Sharon Jeffcoat Smart Goude, Gail Walters, and Vonda Kay Jeffcoat; his brother, Clarence Dover Jeffcoat; and his sisters, Cornelia Jeffcoat Smith and Thurma Mae “Bill” Jeffcoat Raughton.
The funeral service will be held at the Wagram Church of God at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026 followed by burial in the Pinecrest Cemetery in Gibson. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Wagram Church of God.
