In the early morning of August 11, 2025, the beloved Helen “Betsy” Teal Beane of Gibson, passed to her Heavenly home at the age of 91, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted friend who will dearly be missed.
Helen was the daughter of the late Jackson Charlie Teal and the late Lula Cole Teal born April 4, 1934 in Scotland County, NC. She was the loving wife of husbands, the late Pete Pearson and the late Thomas Beane. Betsy loved her career with the Laurinburg Surgical Clinic service many years as the Office Manager until retiring. She faithfully served as a member of the former Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church and then the Tabernacle United Methodist Church. She served in many church capacities including the former Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher, the Past President of the Women Society, and loved organizing the Brown Bag Sunday and Birthday Sundays.
Betsy also enjoyed her time as a member of the Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, and being a volunteer with the Emmaus Walk and Scotland Memorial Hospital. In her quiet time, she loved reading and completing puzzles.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by brothers, Earl Teal, James “Jimmy” Teal, Billy Teal, and Harold Teal.
She is survived by sons, Randall Pearson and wife Cecilia of Gibson, and Timothy “Tim” Pearson and wife, Alyssa of San Diego, CA; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren; devoted friend, Diane Hudson of Gibson, along with her extend family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with graveside committal services in Pine Crest Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation prior to services on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
