Hazel Bost Dorsey

Hazel Bost Dorsey of Mt. Gilead loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend departed this life at the age of 77 on June 22, 2025.

She was born on August 17, 1947 in Stanly County, North Carlina, adored daughter of the late Prince Alton and Vetress Idell Bost. Hazel was a graduate of South Stanley High School. She loved her work as an Office Assistant retiring after twenty-eight valued years with the City of Charlotte. Hazel enjoyed working word search puzzles and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her love and dedication to her family.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Herman Bost, Newman Bost, Genoel Blalock, John Bost, William Bost, Peggy Bost, Carrie Gallimore, and Hoy Bost.

Left to cherish her memory is husband, Smokey Joe Dorsey of the home; daughter, Kimberly Jo Dorsey; brothers, Harry Bost and Loy Bost; and grandchildren, Ava McRae Allred and Ryker Crowell Allred; along with many loving extended family and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Twin Harbor Worship Center. 

A time of visitation with the family will be held prior to the services beginning 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. a Twin Harbor Worship Center.
