Harry "Bill" Wayne Norton went to his Heavenly home Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Bill was born March 17, 1951 in Marlboro County, SC. He was preceded in death by his parent Roy Manuel Norton and Ellafair Leviner Norton.
He is survived by his wife Dianne “Ann” Snead Norton of the home; daughter, Leslie Norton Gibson (Randy) and son, Kevin DeWayne Norton (Whitney); grandchildren, Chandler Gibson, Casie Gibson, Camdyn Norton, and Brantley Norton all of Laurinburg. Also survived by siblings, Leroy Norton, Donald Norton (Mary Helen) of Laurinburg and Mitchell Norton (Linda), Doris Sessoms (Tommy), Betty McPherson (Butch), Wiley Norton (Brenda) all of Laurel Hill; along with a host of family and friends.
Bill was known as being very active in his church at the Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved the church and it was evident in everything he would do including, serving as a Deacon, Board Member, Secretary and Treasurer, Adult Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, choir leader, and especially enjoyed organizing and overseeing of the Annual Ingathering. He was the active Chief of Springhill Volunteer Fire Department serving for forty-five years. Bill was an active board member of Scotland County Farm Bureau and an active member of Scotland County Fire Commission. Bill loved his career of over 35 years as a chicken farmer with Perdue Farms, Inc..
He was a loving and dedicated husband of fifty-two years. A devoted father and “Papa” to two wonderful children and four grandchildren. Bill enjoyed helping others no matter the situation. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be remembered for his kindheartedness, charitable ways, and tireless dedication to others.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025 at the Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial with fireman honors will follow the service in the church cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be given in Bill's memory to Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church or the Springhill Volunteer Fire Department.
