Harold Dudley Currie

Harold Dudley Currie of Laurel Hill, NC departed this life at the age of 62 on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

He was the loving son of the late Edgar Harold Currie and the late Ruth Culbreth Currie, born October 17, 1960 in Laurinburg, NC. Harold was a dedicated employee for over 30 years with the Harris Teeter Supermarket Company in the Moore County Stores until his retirement. He was a member of Sneads Grove United Methodist Church where he enjoyed his time of worship. In his younger days, Harold enjoyed playing baseball and later turned that love to coaching. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family and playing with his grandkids. Harold was a loving husband, father, Pa, and Papa, brother, and friend who will truly be missed.

Along with his parents, preceding him is death is brother, Mike Currie.

Harold is survived by his adored wife of 35 years, Penny Helms Currie of the home; son, Jamie Currie (Sandy); daughter, Pamela H. Cardwell (Mark); brother, Paul Currie (Tina) and his twin brother, Howard Currie; grandchildren, Summer L. Haston, Kristen H. Dawkins, Ashton Dawkins, Catherine L. Cardwell, Henry Wright, Tyler Wright, David Currie, Radley Currie; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth R. Haston; along with a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Sneads Grove United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Reginald Oxendine.  Burial will follow in the Currie – Cameron Family Cemetery.   

Visitation will be on Thursday evening, September 14th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
