Harold William Chavis, age 70 of Wagram, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020.
Harold was born December 2, 1949 in Robeson County, son of the late Junior “Fuzzy” Chavis and Nove Jo Chavis. He loved his life as a farmer. He served as a member of Turnpike Baptist Church and enjoyed motorcycle riding and fishing. Harold loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. To his family, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Randy Chavis and Mable Chavis.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Sallie Locklear Chavis of the home; sons, William Chavis (Rhonda) of Maxton, Ronnie Chavis (Tasha) of Wagram; his brothers, James Chavis, Ronald Chavis, Dennis Chavis, Charles Chavis, all of Rowland; sisters, Tammy Chavis, Freida Chavis, both of Rowland, Carolyn Chavis of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Brooke Chavis, William Locklear, Joshua Chavis, Hanna Chavis; great grandchildren, Angel Chavis, Serenity Chavis, William Locklear, Jr., Anna Rose Locklear, Madisyn Locklear and a host of many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Funeral services for family will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2020 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Graylen Mitchell and Rev. Carson Smiling. Burial will follow in the Chavis Family Cemetery, Rowland, NC. A time of visitation will be prior to the service on Monday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
