Hal Evans Locklear of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 67 on March 11, 2026. A beloved father, grandfather, son and brother who will deeply be missed.
Hal was one of nine children of Lillie Mae Clark Locklear and the late Arnold Wilson Locklear, Sr., born April 1, 1958 in Laurinburg, North Carolina. He had a long career that he truly enjoyed with Crop Production, Inc., especially driving trucks for the company. An avid outdoorsman, Hal loved spending his time fishing, hunting, gardening, and riding his motorcycle. He was a devoted family man who loved helping and sharing time with each of them.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne “JW” Locklear.
Hal is survived by his longtime companion, Lisa Ransom of the home; sons, Robert Roller (Karen) of Rockingham, Derek Roller of McColl, SC, and Austin Smith raised as a son of McColl, SC; his adored granddaughter, Addilyn Roller; mother, Mrs. Lillie Mae Clark Locklear of Laurinburg; brothers, Arnold Wilson “Buddy” Locklear, Jr., (Michelle), Jimmy Sinclair Locklear (Carleen), Lloyd William Locklear (Arlene) all of Laurinburg; sisters, Sherley Ford (Ed) of Laurinburg, Delores Berry and Patricia Vicente both of Maxton, and Kay Britt (Nathan) of Laurinburg. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and his loving extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church followed by burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be prior to services on Sunday beginning at 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
