Grace Oxendine

Grace Oxendine, age 74 of Rowland, NC departed this life on April 1, 2026.

She was born December 31, 1951 in Scotland County, NC, loving daughter of the late Archie and Ida Ree Dial Locklear. Along with being a devoted homemaker, Grace took great pleasure in working at Glenda’s Cut and Curl for many years. She served as a faithful member of Purvis Independent Baptist Church. Grace enjoyed singing, going fishing, and especially beach trips with family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will truly be missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by son, Master Baby Boy Oxendine; brothers, Dallas Locklear, Verdell Locklear; and sisters, Gail Locklear, Patsy Fowler.

Left to cherish her memory is her adored husband of 54 years, Danny Oxendine of the home; son, Derrick Oxendine (Debbie); daughters, Rochelle Oxendine, Syble Jacobs (Rico) each of Rowland; brother, Jimmy Dean Locklear (Brenda) of Pembroke; sisters, Bessie Jones, Lexie Brooks (Jerry), Cletus Jones each of Maxton; grandchildren, Chelsea Oxendine, Jasmine Locklear, Jacob Oxendine (Kayla), Zachariah Jacobs (Christen); and great-grandchildren, Kayson Oxendine, Kalejun Oxendine, Uri White, and 2 baby boys on the way; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Purvis Independent Baptist Church with burial following in the Oxendine Family Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 beginning 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.
