Gloria Ann Mumford was a precious daughter, loving sister that dedicated her life to caring for her family and others. She was born September 21, 1967 to her loving parents, Jesse Norman Mumford and the late Vera Mae Goins Mumford of Marlboro County, SC. She entered the gates of Heaven at her home surrounded by her loving family in the early morning of March 7, 2025.
Gloria faithfully served as a lifetime member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She worked in the Food and Nutrition Department with Scotland High School at the time of her death. She loved to cook and feed others, shopping especially at Sam’s, talking on her phone, and sharing a meal at Captain Larry’s with her birthday group. She will deeply be missed by her family, her many special friends and church family.
Along with her mother, Gloria is preceded in death by her grandparents, Neil Goins, Sr., and Annamae Strickland Goins, Jesse Carroll Mumford and Vivian Mumford Crowley; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gloria leaves behind to cherish her memory her father, Jesse Norman Mumford of the home in McColl, SC ; her sister, Vera Renee Mumford; brother, Tony Norman Mumford both of McColl, SC, and Amanda Lee “Mandy Beth” of Florence, SC whom was raised like a sister; two special God brothers whom she loved dearly, Austin Shawn Jernigan and Dustin Shane Jernigan; a very special little girl whom she loved so very much and thought the world of, Halaya Gaile Jernigan; two very special friends of the family, Mr. Jake Coughenour of Laurinburg, NC and Mr. Willie Woods of Clio, SC; her many special friends she thought the world along with special uncles, aunts, cousins that were dear to her and a host of extended relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
