Gloria (Wright) Gibson

Gloria Wright Gibson, age 74 of Fayetteville, formerly of Laurel Hill passed away, Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Gloria was born October 5, 1946 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Mark Luther Wright and Irene Hardee Wright and wife to the late William Gibson. She worked 20 years for Abbott Laboratories and attended Rockfish Church of Fayetteville. Gloria spent her life living for the Lord, reading her Bible, and praying for others. She also enjoyed shopping and eating chocolate candy. Gloria was an example of Godly character, with her sweet, forgiving spirit and helping others in many different ways. She was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by son, William Gibson; daughter, Hope Gibson; brothers, Arthur Wright, Douglas Wright and sister, Marjorie Perkins.

Gloria leaves behind to cherish her memory, sister, Linda Register of the home; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline “Jackie” Gibson of Laurel Hill; brothers, Ronnie Wright (Betty) of Raleigh, Randy Wright (Chris) of Autryville; sister, Joyce Tucker of Smithfield; only grandchild, Jonathan Gibson (Katelyn) of Raeford, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Laurinburg Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to the current pandemic status, all services will be private for family and invited guests only.
