Glenn Locklear, age 71 of Maxton, NC, passed away on May 8, 2025.
He was born in Scotland County, NC on April 28, 1954, son of Geneva Chavis Huggins and the late Crawford Locklear. Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a valued employee of Campbell Soup Company for many dedicated years until retiring. Glenn was an avid sports fan who loved any type of sport that involved a ball, especially bowling, golf, and softball. He loved his family and cherished time spent with each of them. Glenn will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Along with his father, he is preceded in death by brothers, Timmy Ray Locklear and Gilbert Locklear.
Glenn is survived by wife, Linda Locklear; son, Glenn Locklear, Jr., (Akera) of Laurinburg; stepchildren, Ashley Locklear of Laurinburg, Joe Locklear (Jayla) of Maxton, Timmy Locklear also of Maxton and Zhamya Locklear of Laurinburg; mother, Geneva Huggins and stepfather, Emory Huggins of Maxton; brothers, Crawford Locklear, Jr., of Hamlet, Harold Hatcher of Clio, SC, Ray Hatcher of Louisiana, Alex “Shane” Locklear of Maxton; sister, Betty Jo Locklear of Rockingham; and thirteen step grandchildren; along with many extended family and friends.
A time of visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the funeral home with burial following in Stewartsville Cemetery.
