Glenda Diane Chavis Norton

Diane Chavis Norton was born July 21, 1961 in Scotland County. She was the loving daughter of the late Hurley Chavis, Sr., and Mary Scott Hatcher. Diane was the devoted wife of the late Larry Norton, Sr., who was the love of her life. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Alma Jean Chavis. Diane retired from nursing which she loved, especially working with the elderly. She passed away on January 25, 2026.

Diane leaves behind to cherish her memory children, Larry Norton, Jr., (Tasheta) of Battleboro and Marcus Norton (Heather) of Cary; her grandchildren, Destiny Norton (Joshua) and Majesta Norton (Ethan Collins) both of Hope Mills, Evan Norton and Kristen Norton both of Cary, Ni’Caila Norton, Xi’Omari Norton, Ta’Shecia Odoms all of Battleboro; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Norton, Luna-Mae Rayne Collins, Elijah Lee of Hope Mills; her precious brothers, Dannie Chavis (Cathy) of Laurel Hill, James Chavis (Judy) of Laurinburg, Hurley Chavis Jr., (Darlene) of Erma, NJ; step-sister, Leigh Jeffery (Ronald ) of McColl, SC. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and her loving Norton family.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 beginning 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.    No other services are planned at this time.
