Gertie Mae Locklear, 80 years old, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her family and lipstick.
Gertie passed peacefully on May 22, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Ollie Mae and Clifton Dial Jr.; brothers, Mike Dial, Ervin Dial, John Dial; and sister, Irene Brayboy.
She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Carlon Locklear; son, Joe James Locklear (Annette); daughters, Kristina Locklear, Iris Overby (Randall), Carmita Jacobs (Joseph), Heather Watson (Richard), Leona Gessler (William); fifteen grandchildren, Adam, Scott, Tierra, Elizabeth (Ben), Brittane, Cassandra, Sarah, Morgan, Nick, Karlyn, Ella, Joseph Carlon, Emily, Ava, Journey; and great grandchildren, Noah, Elijah, and Ollie; sisters, Wanda Locklear, Vergie Phillips, Madeline Stubbs, Darlene Williams, Ilene Bryant; brothers, Glen Dial, Kenneth Dial, and Larry Dial; along with a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral Services to be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 in the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
A time of visitation will be prior to services from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the funeral home.
