Mr. George Weston Phillips, Jr., age 79 of Laurinburg departed this life on June 2, 2025.
He was born October 28, 1945 in Laurinburg, North Carolina, son of the late George Weston Phillips, Sr., and the late Dorothy Stephens Phillips. George had a long interesting career, as the former owner of WLNC Radio and Phillips Music Mart, then furthering his career with L.O.F. / Pilkington Glass as an electrical contractor retiring after many dedicated years. He faithfully served as a member of Cross Pointe Church. George enjoyed playing golf, riding his tractors on the farm, loved planes whether it was flying or tinkering with R.C. Airplanes. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family and friends and the memories they shared. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, John Phillips.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Pamela Brickey Phillips of the home; sons, Jim Phillips of Lubbock, TX and Christopher Phillips of Laurinburg; brother, Mike Phillips of Cary; grandchildren, Adam Phillips and Madeline Phillips; along with his loving extended family and friends.
