Garvin Jones

Garvin Jones was born August 17, 1952 in Robeson, County, NC, loving son of the late Raymond Jones and Doshie Lee Jones.  His life work was in commercial construction. Prior to his illness, Garvin served as a faithful member of the Youth for Christ Holiness Church.   He enjoyed fishing, gardening and truly loved sharing time with his family.  He passed away at the age of 72 on December 6, 2024.  

Along with his parents, Raymond and Doshie Jones, he is preceded in death by sisters, Priscilla Jones, Frances Baxley Jones, and brother, Harvey “Little Daddy” Hunt” 

Garvin leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Faye Hunt Jones of the home; daughter, Tina Faye Hunt of Orrum; sisters, Shirleen Jones, and Gracie Maynor of Pembroke, Kathy Jones of Fayetteville, Gladys Oxendine of Pembroke; brother, Herman “Man” Hunt of Pembroke; granddaughters, Lexus Shyann Jacobs and Brittney Nicole Jacobs both of Pembroke, as well as his many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be held 3: 00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the Youth for Christ Holiness Church with burial following in the church cemetery.   Visitation will be prior to services on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church.
