Gail Morgan Lockamy of Wagram, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend departed this life at the age of 85 on September 23, 2023.
She was born July 11, 1938 in Miles City, Montana, one of ten children of the late Joseph and Josephine Morgan. Gail was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service retiring after many devoted years of service. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Fayetteville. Gail loved nature, playing Bridge, and was a wonderful cook. She had a wonderful personality, never met a stranger and had a love for everyone she encountered. Gail’s greatest joy was her family and the time they spent together.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by son, Roy Lockamy; and six of her siblings.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 62 years, James Blackman Lockamy of their home in Wagram; son, Rick Lockamy of Clyde; daughters, Connie Wilie of Weaverville, Rose Lockamy of Fayetteville; brothers, Sid Erickson and Marvin Leasure; sister, Betty Leasure; her extended family members, Ebub Autry of Louisburg, Charles Autry of Raleigh, and John Autry of Concord; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
