Frank Wright Lea III

Frank Wright Lea III, age 78 of Laurinburg passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Frank was the son of the late Frank Wright Lea II and the late Ada Kathleen Hunsucker Lea, born July 9, 1945 in Marlboro County, South Carolina.  Frank was the owner and operator of Lea Contract Drapery until his retirement.  He was most generous to his community and surrounding communities and served as a longtime member of the Gibson United Methodist Church.   Frank was a history buff especially Civil War History who loved attending and participating in the Civil War Reenactments as well as collecting Civil War artifacts.  He enjoyed traveling and also had a special passion for animals.

Surviving are his children, son, Frank “Wright” Lea IV ( Amanda ) of Charlotte; daughter, Katherine “Kate” Lea ( Taylor Leonard ) of Whitsett; brother, Joel Lea (Shirley of Laurinburg; sister, Winston Dwyer ( Gary ) of Gibson; and his grandson, William Lea.

A graveside entombment services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Pinecrest Cemetery.   Family will receive friends following the service at graveside.

Memorial donations are requested to be given in lieu flowers to the Humane Society of Scotland County, 1401 West Boulevard, Laurinburg, NC   28352.
