Frances Teal McQueen

Frances Teal McQueen of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 79 on May 17, 2024.

Frances was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Gladys Cashwell Teal, born October 23, 1944 in Scotland County, NC.  She was a precious mother and grandmother, devoted sister and friend to many.  In addition to being a homemaker, she worked many years with Scotland Memorial Hospital in the cafeteria, caring for children in Daycare and then retired after many years in customer service from Winn Dixie.  She served as a member of the East Laurinburg Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking and traveling. Above all, sharing time with family brought Frances her greatest joy.   

She is survived by her son, Stephen McQueen and wife Marlene of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Stephen Tyler McQueen and Stephanie Tahler McQueen; brothers, William Teal and wife, Shirley of Laurel Hill, and Lonnie Teal of Wagram; along with a host of loving family and friends.

A memorial service celebrating Frances will be held 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Richard Tyson and Rev. Tim Hodge.  Family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
