Evelyn Jean Sessoms Jacobs

Evelyn Jean Sessoms Jacobs of Laurinburg departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 73 on February 3, 2026.

She was the loving daughter of the late James Everette Sessoms and the late Paula Marie Grasser Sessoms. Evelyn Jean was a devoted employee of Toastmaster Incorporated for many years until retiring. She served as a faithful and very active member of Multitudes Church. Evelyn Jean had a love for people and truly enjoyed visiting and helping others. She also enjoyed traveling and playing a good game of rummy. Evelyn Jean loved the life she had, taking care of her K-9 companion, Maggie, and especially time spent with her family and the memories they shared. She was a special lady who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her adored husband, Eugene Jacobs and sister, Sandra Marlene Sessoms.

Left to cherish her memory are siblings, James “Buddy” Sessoms of Laurinburg, Wanda “Darlene” Moore of Laurinburg; and half-sister, Lenita Phillips of Sanford; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, special cousins, and many friends.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Multitudes Church with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.

A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday beginning 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the church.
