Eugene "Buddy" Locklear

Eugene “Buddy” Locklear was born April 8, 1949, son of the late Alexander Locklear and Myrtle Maynor Locklear of Robeson County, North Carolina.  He never met a stranger and loved talking to others, especially about Jesus.  He enjoyed his work at Carolina Quick Lube, loved classic cars, watching drag racing and especially fishing.  He served as a member of the McColl Fire Baptized Pentecostal Holiness Church.    Buddy passed away at the age of 73 on April 30, 2022.  A devoted father and grandfather who will truly be missed.

Along with his parents, a son, Kevin Eugene Locklear and brother, Craig Locklear preceded him in death.

Buddy is survived by his son, Robert “Keith” Locklear and wife Kimberly of McColl, SC; daughter-in-law, April Locklear; brother, Bill Locklear of Laurinburg, NC; sisters, Millie Repert of McColl, SC, Margaret Brigman of Laurinburg, NC and Carolyn Taylor of McColl, SC; grandchildren, Alexis Scroggins, Ciana Locklear and Devyn Locklear.  Buddy is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiate by Rev. Glenn Vollrath.  Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
