Emmar Jacobs Locklear was born October 25, 1943 in Robeson County, daughter of the late James Winford Jacobs and Adlean Hunt Jacobs. She was wife to the late Bobby Locklear who preceded her in death in 1989. She was a faithful member of Shoeheel Holiness Methodist Church. She had the gift of hospitality, enjoyed entertaining people and sitting on her porch. Emmar devoted her life to caring for her family and spending time with them. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Emmar passed away to her Heavenly home at the age of 76 on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Driggers; brother, James Winford Jacobs, Jr.; sisters, Mae Wes Jacobs, Clara Mae Locklear, Joyce Revels and Mary Louise Locklear; great grandson, Tristen Bullard and great-great grandson, Jayden Driggers.
Emmar leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Rev. Neal Junior Locklear (Carrie), Bobby Locklear, Jr. (Brandy), all of Maxton, Douglas Noah Locklear (Kelly) of Pembroke, Marcus Clay Locklear (Elizabeth Ann) of Maxton; daughters, Debbie S. Chavis of Gibson, Wanda Jane Williams, Michelle R. Arthurs, both of Maxton; twenty-five grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; aunt, Elmer Sanderson of Lumberton, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
A Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2020 in Shoeheel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery.
