Emma Bell Clark Holt was born January 19, 1948 in Scotland County, loving daughter of the late Martin Clark and Arielma Locklear Clark. She was a devoted homemaker, loved cooking for the family, especially her famous chocolate pies. Hog killings were one of her favorite family times. She also enjoyed fishing and playing Bingo. Emma was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be truly missed. She passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the age of 72.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her only son, Martin Harrison “Herb” Holt; brothers, Martin “Pappy” Clark, Jr., Benford “Shot” Clark; sisters, Virginia Hobby, Savannah Harris and Louise “Weezie” Moses.
Emma leaves behind her daughters, Arielma “Jabo” Holt of the home, Kimberly Jones (Tom) of Maxton, Rebecca Lowery (Wyvast) of Laurinburg; four grandchildren, Tina Bullard, Kelli Jones, Carrie Luther, Kyra Jones and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marion “Nukey” Bullard of Maxton, and brothers, Herbet “Tang” Clark (Mary) of Laurinburg, Hubert “Sack” Clark of Laurinburg, Ander Clark (Linda) of Laurinburg, Ben James “Buck” Clark (Bernice) of Fayetteville, Raymond “Enoch” Clark (Delois) of Laurinburg; a special brother, James “EB” McLaurin and sister, Beverly Thomack; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Family will receive friends prior to services on Saturday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at a later date.
