Obituary

Ellen “Ruth” Strider Beers was born February 8, 1958, a loving daughter to the late John D. Strider and Katie Lee Dickens Strider of Scotland County.   She graduated from Lumberton High School with the class of 1976. She continued her education earning a degree in Cosmetology.  Ruth was a loving homemaker and enjoyed her life work as a hair dresser. She passed away at the age of 64 on May 18, 2022.  She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and special friends.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Daryl Davis, Sr.; son, Daryl Davis, Jr., and daughter, Queena Davis; sisters, Christine S. Campbell, Linda S. White, and Geraldine “Cookie” S. Harris.

Ruth is survived by her son, Jonathan Trinity Davis of McColl, SC; sister, Betty Strider Clark of Lumberton; her grandchildren and many nieces, nephews; a special cousin, Susan Dickens Locklear of Raeford; special friend, Mary English of Laurinburg and a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, May 21, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Laurinburg Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends prior to service beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
