Edna Bullard Lowery, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 80 on February 11, 2025.
She was born December 17, 1944 in Robeson County, NC, loving daughter of the late Dewey Ashley Bullard and the late Ethel Mae Hunt Bullard. Edna was a valued employee of Waverly Mills for many years until retiring and served as a faithful member and the oldest living female member of Smithtown Church of God. She enjoyed cross-stitch, working puzzles, collecting cookbooks, and cooking a delicious meal or a sweet treat. Edna loved caring for children raising most of them in her community. She cherished her time shared with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edna will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her and loving her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her adored husband of 51 years, Wilton Lowery; brothers, Raybon Bullard, Martin "Buddy" Bullard, Johnny Bullard, Larry Bullard, James Bullard; and sisters, Martha Mae Owens, Rosen Dale Locklear, Lois Linda Jacobs, Penny Lowery, and Gerlen Oxendine.
Left to cherish her memory is son, Steven Lowery (Linda) of Laurinburg; daughter, Wanda Locklear (Larry) of Maxton; brother, Claybon Bullard of Prospect; sister, Earletha Troublefield (Bobby) of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Nicholas S. Lowery (Janay), Katlyn M. Lowery (Michael), Morgan P. Locklear (Jamie); great-grandchildren, Kaizlynn M. Locklear, Mi’Kaiah D. Locklear, Mah’Kai L. Locklear, Layla Locklear, Jaxton Lowery, Ne’vaeh Lowery, and Raelynn Adena Lambert; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Scotland Regional Hospice for their compassionate care through the final days of Edna's life on earth.
Visitation will be held beginning 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Smithtown Church of God with burial following in the church cemetery.
