Donna Scott Obituary

Mrs. Donna Lee Caulder Scott, 53, of 21143 Salley McNair Rd. Laurinburg, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 25, 2025. She was born on March 1, 1972 in Laurinburg, NC to, Mr. Troy “Buddy” Caulder and Mrs. Brenda Peele McGirt.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Troy Gaston and Ida Mae Caulder; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Laura Lee Peele; a dear uncle and aunt, Mac and Lula Mae Caulder; and a beloved brother-in-Christ Howard Melton.

In addition to her loving parents, Mrs. Donna is survived by her husband of 31 years, Don Scott; and their children, Courtney Scott of Laurinburg, NC, Trey Scott (Mariah, Bransleigh, JD ) of Pembroke, NC, Joshua Scott (Kayla) of Maxton, NC, and Laura Jacobs (Zachary), of Laurinburg, NC, and a soon to be cherished grandson, Baby Jacobs. She is also survived by two sisters, Rita McGirt and Melissa (Buddy) Brisson; one brother, Christopher (Precious) Caulder; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

A devout Christian from the age of 11, Mrs. Donna was a lifelong member of the Emmanuel Holiness Church. She was honored for ten years of perfect attendance at her home church, Huckabee Grove Emmanuel Holiness Church and taught Sunday school throughout the years. She never failed to share the gospel by word and example pointing others to Jesus. Her faith and life were a light to anyone who knew her, a testimony to her unwavering trust in God leaning on his promises through every season of life.
Mrs. Donna was a passionate and dedicated educator. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and later completed her Master’s in Education at Gardner-Webb University. At the time of her passing, she was actively pursuing a Master’s in Library Science from North Carolina Central University, a testament to her love for learning and her unwavering commitment to education. Over her twenty-year-career, she touched countless lives in Robeson and Scotland counties through her teaching and mentorship.

In her free time, Mrs. Donna enjoyed cozy Hallmark movies, spontaneous beach trips, and chasing snow flurries with her children. Her favorite days were those Sundays spent going to church, cooking for her family, and sharing time with the people she loved most. Her smile, laughter and kindness left imprints on anyone she met. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, selfless heart, and deep love for her family and community.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, July 30, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31st at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in the Smithtown Church of God Cemetery.
