Donald “Craig” Ekis was born October 9, 1956 in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Donald Henry Ekis and Norma Stegner Altier Ekis, and step son of the late Marion Ekis. His love of working on transmissions led Craig to become a Transmission Specialist and business owner of ESCO Transmission Center from 1980 until his retirement in 2017. Tool collecting was also one of his many hobbies. Craig was a faithful man of God and loved his church family at the Wagram Church of God. He was devoted to his family and will be cherished as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Craig entered his Heavenly home at the age of 64 after a long illness on May 5, 2021.
He is preceded in death by brothers, David “Bruce” Ekis and Dean Alan Ekis.
Craig leaves behind his loving wife of 34 years, Pamela Britt Ekis of their home; his only daughter, Rebekah E. Graham and husband, Scottie Graham of Laurinburg; his adoring grandsons, Blake and Carson Graham; sisters, Diane Ekis of Laurinburg, Lori Williams of Oklahoma, Carolyn Hamilton (Shawn) of Mooresville in addition to his many nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Wagram Church of God officiated by Rev. Ricky Brewer. Burial will follow the service in Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Church.
The family requests donations be given in Craig’s memory to the Wagram Church of God.
